How Coaching Works in My World

Ram Dass said, “We're all just walking each other home.” Your path is unique, as is mine.

As coach, I commit to helping you recognize and walk your unique path. I respect your ability to make wise choices for yourself. I consider you sovereign in your life.

I am embodying sovereignty — owning myself — more and more in my life, going slowly and tenderly and savoring the journey along my particular path.

I’m here to witness and support you as you own yourself tenderly and step into your unique magnificence. I will be present with you. I will listen deeply and remember what you tell me. I will care about you. I will love you. I already do …

I will bring time, energy, curiosity, experience, and wisdom to our relationship. You name what it is we’ll be working on—the upgrade—and, together, we’ll identify avenues with potential benefit, starting with the enneagram. Our conversations will encompass life, death, pleasure, pain—whatever is up for you. All subjects are welcome. I will witness your process and help you track your experience with loving kindness. I will help you begin to discern and embody the lessons available along the way.

My use of the word “embody” is a deliberate choice, as my center of wisdom resides in my body and I tend to lead with life force energy—a kind of instinctual drive. I’m from point nine, smack in the middle of the instinctual/self-forgetting triad of the enneagram. Simply stated, the growth path for the point nine person is to wake up. I’m waking up more and more these days. In my experience, the forced isolation from covid has definitely created a space for awakening.

For me, waking up has thus far been an incremental process. I’ve had epiphanies, thank goodness, to jump-start many an upgrade. Otherwise the process could be very slow for me. My nine pattern includes a quality called “sloth.” In my case, sloth manifests as inertia for starting new endeavors.

Hence my late blooming as a coach.

Finally, in my 70s, I’m just now able to articulate to myself and to believe—without having constantly to calm down my critic self—that I am ready to engage and assist other humans in this process.

You, perhaps? Let’s talk about the possibilities. I’m available. My services are affordable. Your first call is free.
