Yevgeni Khaldei was an iconic wartime photojournalist for the Red Army on their march from Murmansk to Berlin during the second World War. His series of photographs, Raising Soviet Flag over the Berlin Reichstag in May 1945, is the most published wartime photograph in the former USSR. The original negatives were long lost and all but very few of his printings were from copy negatives.

Gelatin silver photograph 11.25 x 8.5 inches on fiber-based paper, printed by Khaldei in 1995 and signed by him in charcoal pencil on verso.
