Raising the Soviet Flag Over the Reichstag, May 1945

Yevgeni Khaldei was an iconic wartime photojournalist for the Red Army on their march from Murmansk to Berlin during the second World War.  His series of photographs of the Raising Soviet Flag over the Berlin Reichstag in May 1945 is the most published wartime photograph in the former USSR. The orogonal negatives were long lost and all but very few of his printings were from copy negatives.
